For Your Skin – Pigmentation & Rejuvenation

What is Intense Pulsed Light (IPL)?
Intense pulsed light (IPL), also known as photo-rejuvenation, is based on emitting high intensity pulses of light to penetrate the skin and enhance your skin with no downtime.

IPL is used for facial rejuvenation and is suitable for reducing superficial pigmentation such as freckles, sun spots, mild redness of the skin and uneven skin tone. Most patients also report a smoothening and refining of the skin as pores shrink in the course of several sessions. Skin looks brighter and more luminous as the skin is effectively clarified from within.

How does IPL work?
Intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy is a “quick-fix” procedure requiring virtually no downtime to rejuvenate the skin and restore a youthful glow. IPL stimulates new collagen to form in the skin thereby reducing fine lines, minimizing pore size and acne scars, and increasing skin elasticity. Intense pulsed light also diminishes flushing or redness of the face associated with Rosacea, reduces brown spots, erases broken capillaries, and smoothes roughly textured skin.

What should I expect during the IPL treatment?
During the procedure, you will wear protective eyewear to protect your eyes from the bright light. The doctor starts by applying a cold, soothing gel to the skin. Pulses of light are then delivered to the skin surface to target your skin concerns.

What to expect after IPL?
This treatment is non-invasive, painless and requires no downtime from work or social activities. Normal activities may be resumed immediately after treatment.

How many sessions of IPL will I need?
The optimal IPL therapy consists of a series of 4 to 6 treatments. This will be advised by the doctor during your consultation. Please note that the IPL should be done at least 7-10 days before your event, as this is the time taken to see the maximal positive changes in your skin.
